Holy crap I haven’t done one of these in a while huh? I’m sure all 15 of yall who read this have also noticed that. Because after all, my writing is what you live for.

You stare at your screen refreshing my mid-Facebook page, just waiting and begging for another one of these below-average blogs.

Anyways, how we doing y’all? We hanging in there?

I ask that knowing things could be better so to speak. Hell, this is something even Elmo experienced. Poor little puppet simply asked how things were going and he was eviscerated lol. Thankfully he’s not real so he feels nothing. (Sorry, that was dickish to say, and immediatly take it back)

The point is, a harmless and inanimate puppet simply asking how things are going and it leading to a dumpster fire of discourse is a perfect example of the temperature of this country.

And yeah sure, there are a bunch of hot-button issues going on at the moment.

Election year.

War in the Middle East.

Texas border “issue”. (Ill get to this farce in another post. Don’t have the mental stamina for this joke of a problem right now)

Taylor swift attacking the soul of every middle-aged aged lonely man in this country.

OK CAN WE TALK ABOUT TAYLOR SWIFT?!?!

Man, what the hell is wrong with this country lol…

And by country, I mean the men. Not all men, but THOSE men.

Look man, I ain’t even much of a swiftie per se, but nothing about her being at a football game bothers me in the slightest. Does she pop up on the screen a whole bunch? Is she maybe dating Travis Kelce because of the common trait of having business deals with Amazon? Is she brand new to the heartbreak that is being a pro football fan but feeling none of that because she immediately roots for a team that reaches the Superbowl in her first year of being a fan? YES TO ALL lol…

But, then there’s the other side of this. The fractured ego of the most sensitive person in this country: the disenfranchised, right-leaning, 25-40 year, conspiracy-believing, uneducated male in the country.

You know, the dude that thinks that everything wrong with this world is “just part of their plan man!” The dude who believes in crisis actors. The dude who has the “come and take it” logo on every loud piece of something he owns to compensate for other shortcomings in his life. You know, the snowflakes of this country who cried “stop the steal” as their orange God lost the election in 2020. The same nutbags who stormed the capital leading to 7 deaths. THOSE guys…

These are the dudes leading the fight to tear apart the fact that a powerful woman being shown on the screen for less than 25 seconds during a football game is equal to that of a crime being committed. To me, it just further speaks to the loud whine of the fractured male ego in this country that fears his power slipping away due to inclusion being a focus in today’s America.

They’d rather believe in alternate realities where every one of their political enemies are literal child abusers.. Inclusivity is such a threat to their existence that they’d feel more comfortable believing that left-leaning politicians are transporting children around the world for sex trafficking. This is a more welcoming reality for these men.

After all, these conspiracies must be true since they saw some unfounded TIKTOK video stating that Joe Biden eats a baby heart every day to stay alive or some stupid shit like that. Surely TIKTOK being owned by the Chinese has nothing to do with the overwhelming misinformation that is rampant on that app. China would never do anything to fracture this country. Surely not right?

I mean just check out Fox News and what they had to say about Swift.

Again y’all, I don’t worship Swift like so many do in this country, which is harmless by the way. She’s a pop star with a few songs I don’t hate. Who cares if you're a swiftie.

But that’s not the issue here.

The real issue here is a perceived one. A threat she embodies. A fear she stokes in the sensitive ego of so many threatened and insecure men in this stupid country we live in. A new reality she exemplifies that is the root of a conversation being had, finally, in this musty country ruled by powerful men: Is America threatened by Powerful Women?

This country has a shit ton of problems when it comes to championing women's rights. Hell, we got a Supreme Court trying with all its might to bring back women's policies from the 1920s.

But the universe offers us many opportunities to see where we stand on what is right and wrong.

And hopefully seeing Swift at football games presents us with a mirror to see who we are inside; and if what stares back at you is an angry, annoyed, and triggered face…you may be part of the problem in America today.

My bad for being gone for a month.

January was a busy one. Felt long didn’t it?! February hasn’t been any easier btw lol. Throw in a couple of sick kids and yeah, safe to say we’ve had our hands full at the Mascorro residence. But I had some time today to write a bit. Hopefully, it wasn’t terrible. After all, I aim for “eh not bad” to be the grade y’all give me on these things…I think I got there today lol
